* Design: Interchange plan are complete. Design for the replacement
access road to Sully Historic Site is on hold pending resolution
of issues between the Airport and Park Authority.
* Right of Way: Offers for 3 parcels have been accepted, allowing
interchange construction to proceed. Additional right of way will
be required for Sully Access
* Utilities: Utility relocation work is underway, concurrent with
construction.
* Construction: The phase 2 Bridge is over 90% complete. The roadway
work for the interchange is over 25% complete. Construction is
currently on schedule for the Air and Space Museum opening in
December 2003 - 2004.
* Design: Roadway plans for the interchange have been approved.
The 28 LLC team is finalizing coordination efforts with the Regional
Park Authority at the W&OD trail crossing.
* Right of Way: Of 85 parcels to be acquired, 29 are cleared and
46 are in negotiations. Right of way is planned to be cleared
by the end 2003 - 2004.
* Utilities: Additional utility relocations beyond those included
in the contract bid price are currently anticipated at this interchange.
* Construction: The Westbound Route 625 Bridge over Broad Run
is nearing completion, with traffic planned to switch to the new
bridge in September. Interchange construction has been focused
on mobilization and on fill operations for the southbound Route
28 widening.
* Design: The detour, roadway, and bridge plans are complete and
approved. Lighting and signage plans are under review.
* Right of Way: Of 13 parcels to be acquired, 12 are cleared and
1 is in negotiation.
* Utilities: relocations are underway and are anticipated to be
well within the project budget.
* Construction: The detour construction began in August and is
expected to open in October, with bridge and permanent construction
proceeding over the winter, weather permitting
* Design: The concept plan is under review: The detour, bridge
and roadway plans are under development.
* Right of Way: The 28 LLC Team is working to finalize total right
of way needs.
* Utilities: The utilitiy relocation plan is under development.
* Construction: Detour construction is planned to begin in Spring
2004.
* Design: A preliminary concept design was submitted. The concept
includes geometric revisions to the original interchange concept
in cooperation with the Airport.
* Construction: Construction is planned to begin in Spring 2005.
* Design: Traffic studies and concept development have been initiated.
